Quiet & Neighbourly (has lived here)

Meadowview Blvd is located in the northern area of Bowmanville, Ontario and is located in an established residential neighbourhood which contains homes which are roughly 15-30 years old.

One of the highlights of this neighbourhood is its friendliness, people tend to stop and chat with you without giving it a second thought especially if you live in the community. It has a small-town charm to it that is very hard to find especially in other parts of the Toronto area. The community is mixed, meaning it has families with kids, and large numbers of retirees. Relations between these communities are cordial.

Another large advantage of this area is its proximity to schools, there are three schools within walking distance of Meadowview Blvd, a public elementary school, a catholic high school and a catholic elementary school. Each are highly respected and have a good reputation, especially compared to the town's local high school (only accessible by public transport/drive).

There is a large park "Lord Elgin Park" which is adjacent to a school directly south of Meadowview Blvd. It offers a baseball field and a great open space to play soccer or football. There is also a brand new playground for children which is very safe and convenient for families with kids. The community directly south of Meadowview Blvd is quite historic and well kept, which offers a great place for couples to stroll through.

This road is also located in the charming, yet growing, town of Bowmanville, a historic community with a very well-kept downtown area and multitude of amenities.

All of its many advantages aside, it is far from any sort of public transport so you will need a vehicle to get to any major shopping centers including convenience stores. However, residential growth to the north of the immediate community is significant and the likelihood of a new major commercial plaza being built is significant. The neighbourhood is also far from the major Highway 401 thoroughfare and Highway 2 (a major avenue). Another disadvantage is that it is not near any major medical centres or commercial facilities. This is a residential-only area that's for sure.

In terms of cost of living, home prices are extremely good especially compared to other areas in the greater Toronto area, this area is a bargain for the new home buyer especially those with young children. The commute to Toronto is quite long, but the cost of living makes it worth the extra expense (even if you take gas prices into account).

I'd actually recommend this street to everyone, but in terms of "ideal" residents, families with kids would absolutely enjoy this area. If you don't drive though, you're best to find another area to consider.
